Nestify

NESTING FOR DECAL KITS · NO INSTALLATION NEEDED

Pack the kit tighter. Stop wasting material.

Nestify packs every part as tightly as the material allows and exports a finished sheet PDF with the CutContour untouched. All you need is your browser.

HOW IT WORKS · TWO WAYS IN

Drop the file, check the parts, run it.

  1. 01

Nestify import panel with PDF and .ai upload and the part count

    Drop the file

PDF with one decal per page, or an .ai file — Nestify splits it into separate parts first. Then it finds each CutContour path and measures the true outline, not the bounding box.

  2. 02

Part list after import, each part with a thumbnail and extraction status

    See the parts

Every page — or every object split out of the .ai file — becomes a part with a thumbnail and an extraction status. Fix or exclude anything that did not read cleanly before you run.

  3. 03

Finished sheet view showing 26 parts placed and nesting complete

    Run and export

Set the material width, the minimum gap and a time budget. Watch the sheet tighten, then export a print-ready sheet PDF.

Or never open the app at all.

HOTFOLDER

Connect Google Drive or Dropbox and Nestify creates a watch folder. Files dropped there are picked up, nested and written to the output folder you chose. Prepress drops, production collects.

01 · CONNECT

Google Drive or Dropbox

Connect the account once. Nestify creates the watch folder and you point out the output folder.

02 · DROP

A file lands in the folder

Whoever prepares the job drops the PDF or .ai file in the watch folder from wherever they work. No app, no login.

03 · COLLECT

The nested sheet appears

Nestify picks the file up, nests it with your saved settings and writes the sheet PDF to the output folder.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES

Four things worth a sales call on their own.

SPOT COLOUR

The CutContour stays the CutContour

The contour comes out with the same name and the same spot-colour type it went in with. Never rasterised, never converted to process. Your cutter recognises it without anyone touching the file.

EXPORT LOCK

An invalid sheet cannot be exported

The minimum distance between cut paths — 6 mm by default — is a hard limit in the software, not a recommendation. If two contours come closer, export stays locked. The knife never cuts into the neighbour's print.

LIVE OPTIMISATION

You watch the best layout appear

The sheet tightens in front of you and the height counts down while it runs. Stop whenever you like and keep the best result so far. Thirty seconds or thirty minutes — you set the budget.

REPRODUCIBILITY

Same file, same seed, same sheet

Every run records its seed and settings. Feed the same file back with the same seed and you get an identical sheet, so a reprint six months from now matches the first one.

SETTINGS

Set it once. The shop runs on it.

Media, cut safety, export naming and nesting options live in one panel. Open one to see the real screen.

Save the widths you actually run — MX decals at 1340 mm, a narrower gloss roll, whatever the shop keeps on the shelf. Pick one and every job nests to that width.

HONEST COMPARISON

Nestify, manual placement, and the licensed tool.

The licensed tools are good software. We are cheaper, faster to learn, and we run on the machine you already have.

SAVINGS CALCULATOR

What does a shorter sheet mean per month?

Set your own numbers. The sheet reduction is the one figure we cannot know for your jobs — it depends on your parts, so treat the default as a placeholder and put in what you measure.

FAQ

The questions we actually get.

Does it work with our RIP?
Nestify exports a standard PDF with the cut path as a named spot colour. Anything that reads your current sheet PDFs reads this one. Nothing is installed next to your RIP.
Which material widths are supported?
Any width you type in. The default is 1340 mm roll; narrower and wider rolls are just a number in the field.
What happens to bleed?
Bleed travels with the part. Nestify measures the cut path and keeps your minimum gap between cut paths, so overlapping bleed is only ever a print question, never a knife question.
What do the files have to look like?
A PDF with one decal per page, or an Illustrator file — Nestify splits the .ai into separate parts before nesting. Either way the cut path has to be a spot colour: CutContour by default, and you can name your own. Parts that fail extraction are listed before you run, so nothing silently disappears.
Does it run offline?
Yes. Everything happens in your browser on your machine. Customer originals are never uploaded, which also means the answer to "where do our files go" is: nowhere.
